Operations Manager
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of our natural stone workshop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day operations of the natural stone workshop.
- Collaborating closely with the rest of the team to streamline processes and ensure seamless project execution.
- Developing and implementing operational strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Monitoring project timelines and budgets.
- Maintaining inventory levels and coordinating procurement activities for necessary supplies and materials.
- Overseeing quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Experience in operations management.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies with an eye for detail and ideally design oriented.
- Proficiency in managing a workshop or manufacturing facility, preferably in the natural stone industry or even joinery/carpentry industry.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for project management and operations.
Quantity Surveyor
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting cost estimates, feasibility studies, and budget preparation for construction projects.
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and cost breakdowns.
- Evaluating and selecting subcontractors and suppliers based on competitive bidding.
- Negotiating and managing contracts, variations, and claims to ensure project profitability.
- Conducting regular site visits to assess progress, identify potential issues, and verify quantities.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, regulations, and industry standards.
- Providing professional advice and recommendations on cost control and cost management.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, cost estimation, and contract management.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software for quantity surveying.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local construction regulations and industry best practices.
